Going Curly

Finally went curly. lol. I think through this for a long time and now I finally gave in to digital perming! Yes, I did it! Haha. I am now curly -- permanently like Nina in this post. Though, unlike her, I had my hair done on a salon which is more expensive. Poor me. lol.

My companion for the day is Chriza, you've seen her often times here before like on this post. She also accompanied me at school for my enrollment. We waited and fall-in-line the whole day. Haha. I'm very thankful that she came with me, without her I'd be as bored as a hell. Thank you for your patience Chrizie!

It's funny that we got hungry so much we bought three meals for just the two of us!

After we ate, we went to SM North Edsa for our second agenda for the day. My digital perming session! My mind was set to have my hair permed at the Tony and Jackey's Salon. I got inspired by Kryz Uy because she had her's on T&J too. Mine was on SM North - The Block branch.

Here's the before shot:
There's no doubt that my normal hair have a bad case of waves. Therefore needed a change asap. Haha.

Can't thank Chriza enough for patiently waiting and taking pictures of me so I can share it here!

I love their unique way of putting the towel on my hair. Haha
Chriza!

I'm sorry but I can't enumerate all the things that they applied and did to my hair. I can't remember them all. What I remember though is that they did 3 treatments(Keratin treatment and hair protection against heat and chemicals) before they headed on to the perming.
My stylist, Sarah. I love her hair color.

One of the treatments they used on me.

The Digital Perm part!
They recommended Medium to Small sized curls because they said that the Big curls will just last for like a month.
This monstrous machine feels like it's pulling all of my hair. lol.
The coolest salon mirror ever! You can watch and browse the internet in here. Haha. Perfect for waiting hours to get my hair done.

The final part! At first, all my curls look like Goldilocks's Haha. And even my bangs were on rollers. But that was just right after they remove the gigantic machine. The neutralizer loose everything off.
Tada! My newly digi-permed hair!
As time goes by, the curls loosen therefore creating a more natural wavy effect. It's been 4 weeks now since I had this perm and I love my new look! I'll be sporting this new hair in my future posts.

Check out this post where we're showing off our curly hair!

Til next post!
XO.

OMG! I love ur curly hair hihi. makes me want to curl my hair too. Maybe before graduation. how much did it cost you sis char?

Char said... Best Blogger Tips[Reply]

Hi Joe marie :) try it too! ;) let's all go curly. lol. Uhm, I really don't tell anyone about the price. HAHA. Even my mom, coz she'll get mad at me for spending so much in my hair. Haha. It's on the range of 5-7k including all the treatments. :/ But it really depends on your hair because they do a strand test before they proceed with the perming. My hair's just that damaged(from coloring and rebonding) so I needed more treatments.

Wow I've heard about digiperming but never thought that the equipment involved looked like that! But let me just say how awesome your curls are! Love it! I also want my hair to be cut and styled by Tony and Jackey. I will probably do that one of these days..

I have no intention of advertising Tony & Jackey's but I'm glad that you were inspired by my curls. Haha. Thanks!

I just had my hair permed at Tony and Jackeys in Makati and it is nowhere what I expected nor does it look like your picture at all. My hair did NOT have that Goldilocks look! In fact it was all kinky. They gave me the medium sized curls. I am sooooo disappointed!

Char said... Best Blogger Tips[Reply]

@SoDepressed Hi! Mine was actually a combination of small and medium curls but still it didn't turn out to be kinky. After several months, my hair was less curly and was like wavy type/big curls but I like it. You can browse through my present posts to see my curls now (make sure to see posts by "Char" because Nina has a different kind of curly hair) :) Were your hair already kinky as you go out of the salon? Or it just turned out to be like that after a few weeks?

Hi Char, thanks for responding so quickly. I just had it finished a few hours ago before I posted on your blog. It's not naman super kinky but its not the big goldilocks look that i wanted and see in your pics. It looked like i just braided my hair. :( Okay, I will check your other posts.

@SoDepressed Uhm, did you avail digital perm or just perm? :)

SoDepressed said... Best Blogger Tips[Reply]

It was digital. Was yours rebonded or colored before the perm?

Char said... Best Blogger Tips[Reply]

@SoDepressed both :) but it was a year ago before I had my hair digi-permed. :)

Hello Char! Umm, is it okay if I ask you where you got your hair done? I've been thinking of doing the same, too. Thanks. :)

Char said... Best Blogger Tips[Reply]

Hi @Wishy! I had it digipermed at Tony and Jackeys, SM North Edsa. I included it in this post :)

hi.. i'm planning to get my hair permed at T&J this December 2012... it's just that I'm afraid my hair would be so short (like shoulder length) after perming. (As of now my hair is almost waist length.) What would probably the most advisable length of the hair before perming if i want it to be like waist length after it was permed... i would really appreciate your answer... really... super thanks! ♥

PS: My hair was rebonded, I got it last year October 2011... would it be safe for me to have it permed or do i have to wait few months again...

Thanks!

@Anonymous Hi! What I did here is digital perming, the cold perm is different and I have no idea about that since I haven't tried it yet before.

There are three kinds of curls at T&J's digiperm. The big, medium and small. They advised me to have medium and small curls coz it would last longer than the big ones. I think it will depend on the size of the curls on how long your hair will be afterwards. I think waist length is fine and won't be as short as shoulder length. As you can see in my photos, my hair before the perming was just below the breast and I took medium+small curls but still it wasn't too short after. You just have to tell them your concerns. Btw, my hair was colored and rebonded too but I waited a year and so before perming. They will also advise you different treatments for rebonded hair before perming. :)

Char said... Best Blogger Tips[Reply]

hi! have you availed the extenso digiperming?? i am planning to have my mane curled too but still in doubt. my hair is dry, i had several hair straightening treatments already. will it be possible to achieve curls like yours? it's shiny and i do love it..:)

Char said... Best Blogger Tips[Reply]

@zee This is loreal extenso digiperming. I also had rebonded/relaxed/colored my hair a lot of times before here. But we all have different hair types and I'm not an expert so I think it's better for you to visit T&Js and have them assess your hair. :)
