Recycled Dress

Here's the Recycled Dress I designed and made together with my classmates for our representative in FEU NRMF Ms. Nursing 2012. It was made up of electric-fan's cover for the hat; & tetra packs, CDs, wires, and garbage bags for the dress.

It's quite hard process sewing the tetra packs and the other materials together. Unlike the regular clothes, it doesn't goes to easily in the sewing machine. Cutting CDs into square wasn't also that easy, I had one classmate almost cut her self doing that. But with all these efforts we made, seeing the dress we made walk on the runway was breath taking!

White Christmas

We watched Breaking Dawn Part 2 last November 18 with our friend, Marinette, and we found these Christmas trees outside the mall. First thing that pop into our mind? Not Christmas, but outfit shots!! lol

I opted for a combination of white and yellow, totally opposite to the Breaking Dawn color scheme. I feel very light that day and excited to watch the last installment of my favorite novel on the big screen so I think my palette matched my mood pretty well. It was very hot, too, so choosing lighter clothing was right. I didn't even feel cold inside the cinema. Prolly because the cinema was jam-packed or I was just intensely eager to watch. I've been waiting for this movie for years, long after I've finished reading the saga. I always wanted to see how others have visualized it. If it wasn't yet too obvious, the book was much much better although I'm not a hater of novels-turning-into-movies. I like seeing the books I read on screen. It gives me a wider perspective to what I already know. Kind of a "tell me something i don't know" feel. I'm not giving away spoiler information but I must say that I was extremely shocked in one part of the movie, surprised in a bad way at first. My mind just started protesting while watching (this probably went on to everyone who read the book first hand) but then I was pretty satisfied at the end. The twist was just out-of-the-box. Extraordinary. I haven't though of that! So, kudos to them! I guess my supposed-to-be-outfit-post turned into a blunt movie review. Haha!

DIY Fringe Cropped Shirt

What you need:

old shirt
ruler
tailor's chalk
scissors

Step 1: Make a guide.

You can use a sleeveless-shirt or a sando as your guide on cutting the sleeves. Line it with your tailor's chalk.

Using a ruler, mark your desired length of your cropped shirt. Under the line, make strips like in the picture below. These lines will be your guide for your fringes.

Step 2: Start cutting and tie those fringes.

Start cutting the sleeves and the strips you made. Then, tie it at the edge near your desired length of your cropped shirt, and that's it, you're done!

Wishing a Fairy tale

Like my previous posts, Nippon and Imma Rockstar, this is also a product of boredom haha.

One of my favorite deviations I found on Deviant Art. The photo was warm, with a dreamy atmosphere and a kawaii gyaru model. Since, I am only using a tripod and a self-timer camera, it's hard to look a place to capture myself, so guess, I failed having the dreamy background. But with my DIY floral head band, thick eye make-up and false lashes, fairy wings from a toy section in department store, trifted lace light peach sweater, and chiffon layered tulle from Landmark; I tried to look gyaru (gyaru is a fashion look originated from Japan) as much as possible, it's good that I already had this detachable-bangs, haha! It completed the look...really!
